Dortmund Germany

Dortmund is located in North Rhine - Westphalia, with nearly 600,000 inhabitants is the eighth city in Germany. It is a town of contrasts and great charm, worth exploring, since both its history and its modernity will be an interesting experience. And you will always have the beer, one of the city’s true passions and one major source of revenue. The city, with its amazing history, has large number of religious buildings, which have survived until our time. Marienkirche, is the oldest gothic church in Dortmund. Reinoldikirche is named after the patron of the city. The main altar, of late Gothic style, has great artistic value. Without a doubt, Dellwig House is one of the most interesting architectural sights of Dortmund. This beautiful castle on water was built in the beginning of the 13th century. During its centuries old history, the castle has been repeatedly destroyed and rebuilt, so now the facade of the building is an interesting mix of different architectural styles. Dortmund, as well, is home to a huge variety of museums, worth a visit are the Industrial Museum, and the Brewing Museum where you will find out about the traditional foamy drink. Despite the marks left by the war, Dortmund is a pleasant city with a lively cultural life nightlife scene and fascinating museums, but one of the best known features of the city are its parks and green spaces, so much so, that the city has been dubbed, the green metropolis of the region, with the vast Westfalia park as the maximum exponent.
