About the destination: Cancun is a city located on the southeast coast of the Yucatán Peninsula in the Mexican state of Quintana Roo. It is a major world-renowned tourist destination, as well as being the seat of the municipality of Benito Juárez. The city is located on the Caribbean Sea, and is one of the easternmost points in Mexico. Cancún is located just north of Mexico's Caribbean coast resort band known as the Riviera Maya. Cancun, located in the Yucatan region of Mexico, has many great attractions. Start with the white sand beaches of Cancun City. In the jungles of Yucatan lies one of the largest and best preserved archaeological sites in Mexico, Chichen Itza. The world famous Mayan ruins with thousands of years of history are one of the most visited sites in the world. Cancun is surrounded by spectacular scenery. Isla Mujeres, a small gorgeous island close to Cancun, is simply spectacular. The magical underwater natural pools known as Cenotes are a big draw around the Cancun area. Many have rocky edge formations above them. Outside of Cancun we find Tulum, a unique site where you can go for a swim in turquoise waters and visit the famous ruins of Mayan civilizationCancun has lots to offer. With its mix of tropical beaches, ancient ruins and modern resorts, this area is simply the perfect vacation destination for everyone. Modern Cancun offers wonderful white sand beaches and turquoise sea, great restaurants, lively clubs and activities of every type imaginable.

About the destination: Chichen Itza was a large pre-Columbian city built by the Maya people of the Terminal Classic period. The archeological site is located in Tinúm Municipality, Yucatán State, Mexico. Chichen Itza was a major focal point in the Northern Maya Lowlands from the Late Classic (c. AD 600–900) through the Terminal Classic (c. AD 800–900) and into the early portion of the Postclassic period (c. AD 900–1200). The site exhibits a multitude of architectural styles, reminiscent of styles seen in central Mexico and of the Puuc and Chenes styles of the Northern Maya lowlands. The presence of central Mexican styles was once thought to have been representative of direct migration or even conquest from central Mexico, but most contemporary interpretations view the presence of these non-Maya styles more as the result of cultural diffusion. Chichen Itza was one of the largest Maya cities and it was likely to have been one of the mythical great cities, or Tollans, referred to in later Mesoamerican literature. The city may have had the most diverse population in the Maya world, a factor that could have contributed to the variety of architectural styles at the site. The ruins of Chichen Itza are federal property, and the site's stewardship is maintained by Mexico's Instituto Nacional de Antropología e Historia (National Institute of Anthropology and History). The land under the monuments had been privately owned until 29 March 2010, when it was purchased by the state of Yucatán. Chichen Itza is one of the most visited archeological sites in Mexico with over 2.6 million tourists in 2017.

About the destination: Mérida is the capital of the Mexican state of Yucatan. Mérida is a fascinating and festive city with a very distinct Spanish colonial influence. Mérida is a very atmospheric town, especially on weekends when the central streets are closed off and there is music and dancing in the main square. The whole city seems to move downtown to celebrate. It is also a good base to explore the Yucatan Peninsula. From Mérida you can visit Mayan ruins and museums, haciendas, cenotes, and a great variety of Catholic churches.Mérida was founded by Spanish conquistadors in 1542. They conquered the existing Mayan town, dismantled the pyramids and used the stones to build the Cathedral of San Idelfonso. The site of one pyramid is now Mérida's main town square. This town square or Plaza is now ringed by this cathedral as well as the town hall, the governor's palace and the Casa de Montejo, the former home of the conqueror of Yucatan. Stroll down Paseo Montejo to admire restored Spanish and French colonial mansions.Mérida is an interesting mix of amazing culture and history, tasty food, endless cultural activities and exciting attractions. Mérida is the cultural capital of the Yucatan and its beating urban heart.

About the destination: Campeche is one of 31 States that, together with the Federal District, conform the 32 federal entities of Mexico. It is one of three entities that make up the Yucatan peninsula, is in a position of transition between the Guatemalan Peten rain forest and deciduous in the north end of the Yucatan peninsula. The State capital is San Francisco de Campeche. The region has a based on the well-known tourism as Sun and beach tourism, although the great legacy of pre-Hispanic culture makes the place even more charm.

About the destination: The city is known as a center of business and management of the oil industry and the southeast of Mexico. Villahermosa is a city with an abundance of natural resources, its origins go back to 1519, when Cortés, after defeating the Chontal Indians in the battle of Centla and after receiving the Malinche. The city focused its tourist offer in its cultural heritage but also generated many business tourism income.

About the destination: Chiapa de Corzo is a small Mexican city located in the center of the state of Chiapas, in the southeast of Mexico. It is located 15 km from the center of Tuxtla Gutiérrez. It is the first city established in the state and the first capital, and has a Parisian style in the squares of its historic center. It is the head of the municipality of Chiapa de Corzo, which is located in the Central Depression of Chiapas. It limits to the north, with Soyaló and Osumacinta, to the west, with Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Suchiapa and Villaflores, to the east, with Zinacantán, Ixtapa and Acala, and to the south with Villa Corzo.

About the destination: San Cristobal de Las Casas is the head of the homonymous municipality in the center of the state of Chiapas (Mexico). It is the largest urban center in the region of Los Altos de Chiapas2 and the third largest in the state, behind Tuxtla Gutierrez and Tapachulaen the Free and Sovereign State of Chiapas.

About the destination: Palenque is in Chiapas and is a city famous for the ruins of a Mayan city dating from about 600 to 800 CE and became a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1987. Its numerous inscribed stone slabs, intricate basrelief sculptures, inlaid masks and other remarkable adornments give Palenque an air of enchantment and sanctity. The 75-foot-high Temple of the Inscriptions contains one of the only crypts found inside a pyramid in Mexico. On excavation, the Tomb of Pakal, a Mayan ruler of the 7th century, revealed an array of jewels, masks, jade ornaments, wall carvings and other exquisite artefacts.

About the destination: Bacalar is the largest city of Bacalar municipality in the Mexican state of Quintana Roo. The main attraction of the city is the Laguna, on whose banks is a spa where you can swim, also offers palapas to eat, boating on the lagoon and other services. The Museum of the Caste War located in the old fort of San Felipe shows weapons and objects of the founders of Bacalar and the struggle between them and the Mayan groups and pirates attack suffered by the city. Another of the main attractions of the city is the Blue Cenote, famous for the transparency of its waters, which monitor perfectly from the surface to a depth of over 30 meters.

About the destination: Tulum is the largest community in the municipality of Tulum, Quintana Roo, Mexico. It is located on the Caribbean coast of the state, near the site of the archaeological ruins of Tulum. MAIN TOURIST ATTRACTIONS •Tulum archaeological site •Muyil archaeological site •Cenotes •Sian Ka'an Biosphere. The reserve features acres upon acres of pristine mangrove swamp and wetlands. •Coba ruins. They feature "el castillo" the tallest of the Mayan ruins that juts up above the treetops in the jungle. You can still climb el castillo in Coba and the sight from the top is spectacular. •Tulum Ruins. It is the biggest ancient building that is standing on the Riviera Maya shore.

About the destination: Playa del Carmen was originally a small fishing village south of Cancun, but in the last years it has transformed into a bustling tourist resort. It is one of the most colorful and diverse towns on the Mayan Riviera. Playa del Carmen offers balmy tropical breezes, world class food, good night life, amazing ruins, endless beaches, incredible snorkeling, wonderful parks, friendly people and so much more. And it is as mellow or as wild as you'd like it to be. Playa del Carmen is a great base for exploring all of the interesting places on the Mayan Riviera and the Yucatan peninsula. The island Cozumel, which offers some of the best snorkeling and scuba diving in the world, it's just a short boat ride away. The site of Chichén Itzá is 3 hours away, but it's definitely worth the trip! Although touristy Playa del Carmen is captivating and picturesque, full of small and charming Mexican shops and restaurants. This little city has so much to offer if you want it.
